AFTERCARE HAIR

When coloring hair whether its a direct dye, semi, demi, or permanent it is vital to your color vibrancy and longevity to follow this simple rule: DO NOT WASH YOUR HAIR FOR 48 HOURS AFTER YOUR COLORING SERVICE/CHEMICAL SERVICE

Reason being, color processing and bond repairing takes place inside the cuticle, it takes the cuticle swelling close to 48 hours to subside. Higher level developers and lightener swell and the cuticle wider than the demi (glosses) - if you wash before the timeframe you risk reversing any bond repair and extreme fading of the toner aka gloss aka demi. Direct dyes sit on the top of the cuticle, so vivids/pastels are at the highest risk- I typically recommend going longer than 48 hours for those services.

additional PRO tip- when heat styling USE HEAT PROTECTION. heat fades the color quicker than time, if youre glued to your iron like a lot of us are each time you put heat on your bare hair you are weakening the cuticle. so slivers of your cuticle actually break off taking the color with it. This is why overly heat processed hair looks
